Sidewalk assessments

Purdef asked who to pay, said his bill rose to $3,000 after he'd already fixed a gap himself, and questioned a cracked curb and a city tree that lifted his sidewalk.

Pardo said he was being charged nearly $3,000 for one block replacement and five grindings and asked for transparency on how costs were calculated.

Ferrante, on a corner lot with every utility under his sidewalks, argued it's unfair to bill him for damage he can't control, and questioned why the worst sidewalks aren't fixed first.
